Japan Part 1: Food!

It has been almost 3 weeks since I came back from Japan and caught up in the busy-ness of work.

The trip was nothing short of walking and taking pictures and walking and eating and taking pictures and walking and a little of shopping. Can't shop much there as it's too expensive to shop there, although I reckon we spent a small fortune at Uniqlo. Not because it's much cheaper but because it's much more affordable!

Shall start the blog on the Japan trip with something to whet your appetite (literally). Took me ages to sort out the pictures, group them and put them into collages for ease of uploading!

Airplane breakfast. ANA food is not nice...

First meal in Tokyo. Ramen, with over-friendly auntie who made us so uncomfortable coz we were the only ones in the store and she was staring at us eat!

Tea break at Harajuku! Iced Royal Milk tea, Orange Mint Tea, Blood Orange Juice and desserts!

Crepes! Banana-Choco-Icecream from Harajuku, Tokyo; Green tea- Sweet potato jelly-ice cream from Enoshima.

Macdonalds on Shinkansen! Ebi burger!

Kitsune Udon in Shin-Osaka where you have to stand and eat!

Oden Store outside Shinjuku Station, Tokyo.

Takoyaki!! This one is the yummiest and cheapest! Long queue at Shinokatazawa.

Tako-yaki feast in Osaka!

Train bentos! Not my favourites since they are cold!

Another favourite meal in Tokyo. Went back to eat twice coz they are rather cheapt too! At Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Okonomiyaki at various places... Hiroshima, Mount Hiei.

Train eats! Yummers bao from BaoBao, random bento sets (some from convenience stores, and yay to microwaves!) and rice balls!

Lunch at this quaint little shop manned by an ah ma who cooked the yummiest oyaky-don! In Yoshinoyama.

Lunch at Kawaguchiko Shibamatsuri. Too expensive and not very nice. Think coz tourist area. But Aunt's food was nice.. taste abit like ban mee though. Haha.

Lunch at Arashiyama.

Yoshinoya. We feel cheated coz they mostly serve beef! But lucky there is a pork dish which Liyin and I could eat. Wanted to walk out when we realised they serve mostly beef but they already served green tea!

Curry rice. Not a big fan of Japanese curry but this one won me over! YUM!

Tea at delifrance when the weather got too cold at Karuizawa - Prince Shopping Plaza.

Tako snack at Enoshima. The octopus were placed on the pan and squeezed till it became biscuit like. Interesting!

Ramen in Osaka.

Omu rice in Osaka! YUMMERS too!

Fishy snacks at various locations. But the yummiest, in my opinion, is the chocolate one!

IPPUDO!! They have the yummiest yummiest egg which make you go "ahhh....." once you bite into it! We went back to eat twice too! After Ippudo, I felt that all other ramen paled in comparison! And I loved it that they provide appetizers such as bean sprout (kim chi style) and garlic where you can squeeze (see last pic)! Garlic are yums!

Closer look at the heavenly tasting egg...

The menu...

Finger food along the journey. Bread, sushi, bubble tea, grilled oyesters, ice cream puff, sweets, sakura peas (which was gifted to Liyin), orange Seventeen ice cream and sen bei, red bean mochi and curry bun with oysters!

And yeap, we ate lotsa soft serves! Sakura, peach, grape, green tea and vanilla! Peach was the yummiest!

Desserts outside Tenonji. Green tea overload! We swore off anything green tea for awhile after this!

That's all for the food portion. Travels, sight seeing part up asap!

Have a great Friday ahead!!
