Perth Adventure Day 10

Opps its been a month since I last blogged about Perth. Hahaha. I blame it on my crazy schedule, crazy schedule, crazy schedule and my crazy schedule.

Time is of essence! Let's get on it straight away!

I awoke to the sights of some erm wild pink cockatoo species feasting on seeds early in the morning...

There were about 5 of them. I suppose the rest are camera shy...

Breakfast at our very comfy communal hall. I just love the homely feel of Walpole Lodge! Be sure to bunk in there if you're in Walpole, won't regret it man.

This poor chap hurried to get out of the way as we made a beeline for the car...

And we're on the road again! The landlady of the lodge suggest that we visit the nearby nature attractions including a whale spotting berth en route to Denmark.

I love this artistically taken photo.

A section size of dunno what birds. Just know that they belong to the family of Pelecanidae.

I want to fish on my private houseboat when I retire!

A typical toilet at all the nature attractions. The discharge goes right down and left to return to nature. Neat!

We soon approached the forest with tingle trees. Just know that tingle trees have a cute 'hideout' due to the direction of its root development and growth.

A small tingle tree...

A medium tingle tree...

A large tingle tree!!! People used to back their cars up to this tree and take pictures. But veheicular access are cut off now so as to protect the fragile roots from being run over.

Next up the circular pool...

And the reason for the dark water...

We had fun jumping from rocks to rocks and avioding the water...

The weather's sunny and cold. Something impossible in Singapore.

One of Nightstar's favourite picture of the entire trip!

Next up! The popular attraction. Valley of the Giants - Treetop Walk.

The 'Giants' refer to the trees... Many growing in excess of 60 metres.

Pics galore!!!

We had fun swinging the bridges like crazy...

The highest point of the trail at 40 metres. I won't bother walking the Singapore treetop walk now.

Posing with a fallen tingle tree at the adjourning nature walk.

Some Sword plant. Cool name for such cool looks.

Tingling fun... LOL...

Jian Yong likes collecting these gold souvenir coins. This box is found at all Perth's famous attractions.

We dropped by this winery and local product store to grab some good stuffs...

Got seduced by their garden and plantations before entering the shop.

Oranges!

Peaches...

But this is what we were really after...

The weird plants at our next foodie stop. The berries were gone by then of course...

Taadaa! Toffee factory!!!

Nightstar takes a peek at the process...

We get to sample lots of different flavoured toffees and also their local sauces and spreads. I bought a bottle of 'brinjal chutney' from here. Interested? Come my place for a free sample!

I wanted to steal that tub of strawberries while he got busy...

Busy making this humongous frozen strawberry yoghurt ice cream!

The flowers outside next foodie stop...

Tons of honey which means we could only be at Bartholomews Meadery...

They produce all things honey-ed! From honey spreads...

To heavenly honey ice creams...

Yes and most amazingly honey wine!!!

Sampled about 6 glasses of wine and they sure taste yummy. Not a grape was used in the fermentation process. I especially love the one that can be heated. Has a warm and comforting feel to the taste. I nicked a bottle of wine back for my elder bro the 'jiu gui' to try.

See the tiny hole under the window? its draped with honey so as to lead bees into the tunnel which will lead them to...

Dunno what you call these bee traps but yea you get the idea...

Its with much reluctance that we had to leave beautiful and scenic Walpole. Time was making a fool of us once again...

Where clouds roll by...

We hit Denmark which has little interest as we are just a day early of the annual blueberry harvesting season opening. Hence, we gave Denmark a pass not before visiting its visitor centre.

Water 'boiling' at 20 degress celcius????

It is possible but I don't know how...

Through this funky machine called...

The Barometer!!!

Jian Yong knows more about it definitely. Something about high pressure and low boiling point or low pressure resulting in lower boiling point. I guess I'm not an arts student without a reason! Hahaha. Should get him to explain how it works. But there's a whole lot of funky gadgets found in this mini musuem just beside the visitor centre in Denmark.

The side of this famous hollywood look-alike coastal town means we have arrived at the last stop of our road trip - Albany City!

Its nice to see a large settlement for a change. Albany is simply amazing with its array of nice houses, lovely sea views and best of all nice restaurants and shops!

A castle! Hahah. I don't suppose so but hey you can't find this kind of stuffs back home...

Nor quaint buildings like these either!

I can't see what more the residents here can ask for. I mean having a view of the sea and having a view of a stunning sunset EVERYDAY just takes the icing and the cake.

Dinner at fast food joint...
-
Remember the page-you-when-your-food's-ready device at Cicerellos??? This one's in the shape of a lobster! CUTE.

CHOW TIME.

Our chalet at Albany. Rates here are slightly steeper...

The name says it all. DOG-ROCK. What a unique geographical coincidence. The locals even drew a collar around it.

And here's goodnight to you from Albany!

I'm sorry for the lack of descriptions but I really forgot some or rather most of the intricate details of the trip. Hehehe. I will be back to wrap up the last few days of my Perth trip soon. Have a splendid weekend folks!
