Terminal 3

Here I am! Once again!

Clueless?

If you don't know where I am now you are no Singaporean. Heck even a foreigner might be able to identify it...

Yeah. The end of semester chao mugging season is back. Was dragging myself on that lovely Saturday morning out of bed to the airport to study with Desmond.

There was an ulterior motive for us to be studying at such an obscure location too. That's because Des' mom got tickets for the pre-public viewing of newly 'completed' Terminal 3! So we threw the notes away and headed for the skytrain from terminal 2 and journeyed to the unexplored!

So before you decide to squeeze with the throng of folks exploring the airport when it opens to public from mid next month, let yours truly take you along this sneak preview and help you decide if its worth the squeeze.

The supposed grand 'tree-top' skytrain ride to terminal 3. They were right. It is a treetop ride after all. Just that the trees are those planted within the carpark. Not those sprawling from some grand rainforest. But I can forsee more parents taking their kids and hogging those seats for the skytrain rides by taking those countless to-and-fro trips since the train ride is longer now.

The super huge departure hall greeted us upon arrival...

Super smooth marble flooring and grand pillars.

Definitely will be able to handle the expected surge in arrivals...

The 'guide' was saying that the ceiling was designed to emit natural light. Neat.

I shall now apologise in advance for the lack of detailed descriptions as I'm doing supposed Employment Relationship research online as well. All in preparation for my paper this Thursday. That's how hardcore a blogger I am! Hahaha. Blogging like mad with the paper in less than what 60 hours away??? WO MEI SHI JIAN!

Looks like I'm going for a holiday.

The airport of the future- No more immigration folks anymore. Tap your passport and go!

Amazing! I tapped an Ez-link card and I got in!

Desmond is one up- He tapped his "Intro to Terminal 3 guide" pamphlet and got in...

Nah just kidding... YOU DO NEED A PASSPORT IN FUTURE. Its just that we have unlimited access into the check in and transit areas as well! Hahaha. This Jappy fountain like structure sat in the middle of the departure/transit hall.

Still work-in-progress I suppose. At least they turned on the tap!

Never queue to gian peng the free internet again!

The transit halls' full of fake trees. . .

But the transit hall boast a great view of the runway.

I underestimated Spore's ability to WOW guests. The trees are real! Planted under the tiles and carpet. But what if these young trees get bigger? How about growing roots???

I reached up and grabbed one of the leaves (The trees must be short or I'm tall). Its real alright. Hahaha.

The very fortunate dude whos mom works in CAAS and the more fortunate one whos friend's mom works in the CAAS. . .

The supposed koi pond without any koi yet. Just filled with some rubbish that other inconsiderate people throw in.

The designated area for the upcoming 'butterfly park'. Yes we're gonna be the first airport in the world with a butterfly park. Talk about doing things over the top. LOL. This should leave other airports smelling smoke...

The super huge gate departing area or whatever you call it.

The super cute snaking sofa. And I see other people sprawling over it already. Kids climbing all over it as well. Like their own sofa couch back home. Maybe some things in transit area are meant to be kept in transit area. So that Singaporeans who do not know how to behave won't destroy it.

I like the new funky toilet signs. The watercoolers' located outside are on auto sensor mode. Stand in front of it and the water flows out.

No Singaporean airport terminal is complete without our very pretty orchirds.

To the arrival hall!

My thoughts on the 'green wall'??? Why on earth would Changi want to put a huge piece of vehicle or command post camouflage net up in the arrival hall??? Maybe its to remind locals and foreigners alike that all MALE Singaporeans are S...... to the nation.

At least the cascading wall fountain above the baggage collection area's a beauty.

And I'm sure Xiang Ning will love these walls.

Pretty dophins swimming across the walls. But why not merlion???

Lastly the travellator across a mini jungle???

The conclusion: Terminal 3 is pretty if you're a tourist. The beauty's only on the inside. If not, its just another airport terminal.
K. Its 1230am already and I better hurry with my ER research if not 2 people will skin me tomorrow. Night!
