It's the end of the Chinese New Year...

And here are the long over-dued photos of the events that took place in the last 15 days...

It's new year eve! And Dada was in the kitchen busily whipping up a feast so that greedy people like me get lots to eat! Ahahaha.

Dada cooked so much that I could not even capture all the food properly with a shot...

The usual 10 of us anually! (My aunt took the pic)

You will not believe it. I go to Geylang Serai anually on the eve of Hari Raya but I've NEVER been to Chinatown on New Year's eve! So the princess took pity on me and allowed me to follow her family to Chinatown to see fireworks and soak in the atmosphere. Yay!

Tons of people and vehicles were there! But the lights were beautiful.

Did I say tons? Make that millions and billions and gazillions...

I managed to capture fireworks and firecrackers too! But too bad I do not know ow to upload it for you folks to see. Oh well. Let me know if any of you guys know how to. Hahaha.

The first day of New Year! And we try not to overdo our dressing...

I AM THE MOST HANDSOME OF THEM ALL... Cos this is my blog and I say so. Hahaha.

We'll fast forward to a week and a half later... As there are not many pictures taken after that except a few mahjong pics. And I see no need to publicise my 13 wonders tiles formation here. =p

Anyway this was yesterday when the princess brought me to river Hong Bao to catch fireworks again! 3 whole mins of them! What a treat. Once again, I'm not able to share it with you guys here. But there were weird shaped fireworks. Hahaha. Refreshing...

We were tired and hot after standing for long so we adjoured to take a break and some pics at the Esplanade!

The princess and the doggies...

We wandered to this little structure where we saw people throwing things into a box. I, being the mountain turtle and experiencing my virgin trip to river HongBao, was curious and edged nearer to the action.

What in the world is this???

"This, is sorta like a wishing 'well'. You take a coin and throw it into the square. Try to hit one of the bells. If you hit the bell, you will be blessed in accordance to 4 character tag underneath," the princess calmly explained.

ORH... It was then that I noted those characters underneath that looked like greek to me. It's actually chinese characters written in fan ti zhi, or the older style of writing. Anyway to me CHINESE=GREEK. So no diff. I happily emptied my wallet of all the 10 and 20 cent coins and tried to hit every bell. Of all the good stuff out there I have to kena the guo tai min an and sheng yi xing long. WTH??? Why not xing xiang shi cheng or wan shi ru yi??? No link at all lor. BAH! Scammer!

The princess was the more skilfull, I mean luckier one. She managed to hit xue ye jing bu twice!!! It's so unfair!!! Hrummph. I left that place sulking.

I can't resist putting this up. Ain't she pretty? I love my princess.

It was really a memorable New Year for me.

And it was YOU who made all these possible.

A short update before I leave house in 15 mins...

Gosh in a blink of an eye its already February! Its almost been a month since I last blogged. Sheesh. Anyway the reason for the short hiatus from blogging is because of too much celebrations going on!

Chinese new year celebrations both in camp and outside have left me quite a considerable increase in my waist line! Bah. And this year's red packet hau registered a career high! Never in my 21 years of Ang Pow scouraging have I ever collected this much amount of money. Hahaha. I will not disclose the amount in case someone learns of the amount and decide to break into my house to steal the money. Bwahahah.

Anyway, it getting more and more hectic by the day in Tekong now. This is the busiest time for all of us as the training programs go into full swing. Gone are the naps, swims, leisure jogs, PS2s and tv watching. Instead it is replaced with seemingly endless chains of recruits giving us trouble and we in turn returning them the favour. Sheesh. What goes around comes around eh?

Thankfully the worst is over with the 7 day field camp ending on the day before the eve of new year. It was 7 days of sh*t I tell you. Never in my one year plus stint as a BMTC instructor have I seen such a batch of screwed up recruits! Oh well. I can surely said that even the PES C batch that I took sometime ago were stronger mentally. Definitely showed more resilience and interest towards the training. Sheesh. Explicit details? Tell ya when I see ya.

Anyway its time for me to book in. And as of this week I will assume to post of platoon sergeant as the current one is going for the platoon sergeant course. Bah. More sai kang for me! Haiz. Why can't I have a peaceful journey towards my ord??? Fortunately, Here's the rough rough roughest schedule of the next few months of my training program...

Feb- Sai kang till the maggots pass out.
Mar-Maggots pass out as houseflies, month of March declared as LULL!!!
Apr- New batch of maggots enter but do I care? Cos I clear leave loh!
May- 90% civillian, 10% soldier. In proportion to the time I spend outside and in camp. Heh.
Jun- ORD LOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The old bmtc adage is true...

"No matter how much sh*t you get, your ORD date remains the same."

17 more weeks to civillianhood...
