Me, me, and me

Final eval done!! HB came, and it's over already. Therefore clinicals is unofficially over!! Just need to finish/tidy up all my stuffs and I'm ready to go!! Whee. This is one long attachment. Glad that it'll be over, but I'll surely miss the clients, and the other team members.

I'm aching all over, from doing resistive exercises, doing stretching, facilitating the clients. Someone send me a spa voucher again, PLEASE!!

It's been raining so much lately that my clothes don't dry up properly!! They STINK!! Maybe I should copy a certain pompy and get a dryer too.

And, and, AND... I'm moving house soon!!!! It'll still be within the area I'm staying at, but it'll be smaller. I would be staying at the third storey if I want my own attached toilet (which i DEFINITELY want), meaning I'll be wheezing 3 stories instead of the usual 2. I foresee toner legs and better fitness (yeah right...). Haha. So if you people wanna come my house party, better hurry up. My new house would not be so spacious.

I wanna go shopping!! For what I don't know. But I miss going around malls! And there better be christmas carols!! Talking about christmas carols, I'll be carolling this year again, up to 3 performances per night, from one week before Christmas. So i foresee more money!!
More money => more shopping => more stuffs => more stuffs to pack when i move!! Arghh!!

What colour should i paint my room?? I would really like one side of the wall to be chocolate brown, then the other 3 sides to be cream colour. But the floor is parquet (dunno how to spell). OR should i go more girly and paint it purple, with cream stripe!! Haha. Excited!!

This post is so random!!

Note to self: Be more organized! Find out and capitalize on my own strengths! Niche myself!
To be, or not to be.

2 more days!!

Birthdays galore!!!

It's back to back birthday parties this weekend! These couple of days are the most important days this year for this few people...

1. My mom! Happy birthday mom! (though you won't be seeing this duh) Just came back from bringing the whole family together with relatives out for her birthday dinner and it cost $315++ Reasonable for an 11 course meal for 12 people I guess? Thank you mom for BROTHERS. So I don't have to pay for the birthday dinner on my own. Hahaha! What an ingrate I am!

But really I guess no one can really thank our parents enough for all the sweat, tears, toil and especially blood, lost mostly through my parents puking out (try raising 3 boys to maturity), that they're put in through these tens of years just to bring us up. Though we will not explicitly display our affection I'm sure deep down inside somewhere all of us love our parents equally much. Hehe.

2. Jia Xi and Yu Hui. Yes you dudes share the same birthdays. And together with my mom as well. So how to forget right? Happy happy 21sts!!! While it may not be your happiest day of the year, especially Yu Hui but oh well. After 12 tonight, the day still signifies your transitions to adulthood!

Yu Hui "bro" all the best for your exams! I'm sure you'll score well with all the effort you put in! Erm think of the rain concert that you're soon attending to spur you to for the final lap of your exams. Don't give yourself undue stress. Take care and catch up soon!

Jia Xi ah bang! May your 22nd year of existence see put your honging aunties skills into better use! Make sure all aunties protest against gst hike and all vote for hem wp. Continue to claim new grounds for ah hem wp and also for God. May you find find greater meaning and joy in your walk with God this year! K enough wishes now to serious stuffs. WHEN WILL YOU GO SIMPANG TO WATCH SOCCER WITH ME AND WEASEL??? Btw Yeovil town FC still suck. Hahaha.

And in a couple of hours on the 27th it'll be the big day of another big girl!

3. Happy birthday XiangNing! Thanks for the invitation to last night's party. Your party was great. I still want to order cake from your dada next time. And I'll soon shamelessly kapo your chocolate fondue machine for my own selfish unscrupulus purposes as well. May all your wishes (you know what they are) come true! Will drop a more detailed email for your guest book soon! Take care and work hard for your projects.

Sigh. Weekends just seem to fly by. Especially when every minute of it was spent with people close to your heart. I gotta stop blogging soon to go sleep. I really can't wait for skool to start... Good night folks!

"You could take a little trip around Singapore town..."

In a little blue GT bike,
To see the collyer quay and raffles place,
The esplanade and blah blah blah...

Which was what I really did. Was bored to tears yesterday so I decided to take the neglected GT out. A perfectly cloudy afternoon. Just me and my beloved GT. Also some people say I buy camera also never use. So here's some lovely pics of my afternoon adventure courtesy of my olympus.

Cycling guide for noobs like me:
First step to get to anywhere in S'pore, cycle to the end of East Coast Park. You'll then be spoilt for choice on the routes to take.

You should see trees like these:

Towering pine trees...

Then you'll hit Fort road area where you gotta choose... Boring Nicoll Highway or Crazy Adventurous ECP??? I say ECP!

More nature for your viewing pleasure...

Why is the ECP more challenging? Well besides the great view and crazy ride downhill later on, there's a lot of roughing out to be done before you can reach the foot of the expressway...

You will then hit this bridge which will bring you to one of the ulu-est corner of East Coast. Sector A of Area A. Which no one in the right mind would go. Really. Cos you gotta wheel your bike across the darn bridge. Those barriers prevent skaters and bikers from crossing easily.

Welcome to Sector A of Area A where the roads are narrow and cracked and dead branches fall all over the road and where no one clears anything. This area was totally deviod of any human form. Well except me. Haha.

Ladies and gentleman, the end of East Coast Park or the beginning you might say. The sign's just there for fun. At this point dismount and wheel your bike across wet, muddy, tall and unkempt grass patches. It's silly to try to cycle. There's uneven mounds and huge dead falls scattered all over. The mud's pretty thick as well.

Keep bashing and wala! The city's in sight! But then the first sign of problem appears... Why is there a drainage when there wasn't any last time???

Second sign of problems: Well constructed roads.

Confirmation of problem: Talked to a foreman who was there directing some construction and he said that there is no more accessible route to the ECP side staircase!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@#$%^&*!!!!!!
He said the narrow path's sealed for the preparation of S'pore's future. Marina. Haiz.
@#$%^&*!!!!!!

Well there's always a way. You can bring your bike across the divider and cycle on the road shoulder, up the ECP till you hit the side path. WHICH I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE. Well I would have the balls to do it if I were 17. The most is LTA pick you up then send your parent warning letter nia. But I'm 21 now so I probably would get charged in court if I did that. But really that idea did cross my mind and it's with much regret that I turned back to the way I came. So near and yet so far.

So once again, bash back to the road, cycle to the bridge, bring the bike across the bridge and go back where you came from to the Fort Road exit. But the last time I took this route was on overnight cycling trip with JC friends. 4 years and things change so oh well... =(

No choice but to take next best route: Nicoll Highway Route. Don't take the Aljunied-Geylang-Kallang-BeachRoad Route unless you really got energy and time. So from Fort Road, cycle to Mountbatten then to Kallang and Hallelujah! To Nicoll Highway and beyond! I hate this route. Traffic's a killer and no one gives way or clearances to motorbikes anyway, what more to manual bikes?

I'm going to the city!!! Yay! See what I mean by killer traffic? Even at a non peak timing like 2pm. Don't you guys have to work in some office or something? So many people Lobo like me.

Basketball. GST go up by 2% and they still charge ERP on Nicoll Highway from 12.30 to 5.30 even. But I don't see any picture of bicycle on the screen lei. Neh na ni boo boo you cannot tax me. I'd like to see them try to get every bicycle registered with LTA and installed with a tracking IU device like on cars. Wahaha! Bicycle's the way to go folks. Cycle on road and still siam road tax. And what are parking fees??? =)

View on Nicoll Highway. Pretty boring lei. Lacks elevation.

Can you guys see the bridge at the far end in the background? Click on this pic to enlarge it. I was suppose to be atop that expressway behind the condominiums dammit. And I was just at the foot of it. Imageine the killer detour I took. Haiz. And I missed the great sea view too. And yes. It's windy way up there but guess I'll never experience that again.

The end of the bridge. Another part of Marina. But city's in view!

And finally! Suntec City!!! I finally reached the city after an hour and half. Would have been much faster if not for the unforseen detour.

Ok I gotta admit I look like a fish out of water by arriving in city in 9 Div pt kit and tpjc shorts. Whole world's in nice nice clothes. Got lots of 'why are you here in this sort of attire look' from kay poh S'poreans. But I seem totally normal to foreigners who don't flinch at the sight of me. Even managed to take picture for a foreign couple by the WW2 memorial site.

Well the rest of the pictures are self explanatory if you're S'porean.....

Memories of Prom night. Well the aftermath, if you guys were with me. Remember??? Sigh. Memories memories...

City hall was one thing. I took it further by cycling to Raffle's Place. The economic power of S'pore. And yes. I shamelessly sat rested right outside Raffles MRT by those stone seats containing carpet grass. All the people in office garb were totally... erm staring would be too light a term I guess? You get the idea. I stared up at the tall buildings and thought, "One day I shall work somewhere here..."

Pit stopped at Lau Pa Sat for some drinks and snacks. Wanted to cycle to Orchard but was really too shagged and too late by then. Hey I'm no longer 17 you know...

And..... *Drumroll please*.................

Hereby conferred the highest honourary title, "THE ORDER OF THE FOO FAMILY". In recognition for years of outstanding uncompromising and unwavering services to members of the family. It's a decade old thereabout GT Tempest that you probably can't find in S'pore anymore. Hand me down from elder bro. One heck of a powerful and durable all terrain bike. Haven't had a need for any servicing except to change worn tires since it was bought. Thanks for the countless kilometres of adventures... *sobs*

One last look around before I head home...

Another fond TPJC memory...

That pretty much sums up my cycling expedition. Had much more pictures but if I uploaded it all I no need to sleep liao. Took only a single pic of myself but didn't wanna put cos I look horrible, sweaty and unshaven. Hahaha.

Shocker of the day: The ironic fact of life. It grabs you by the neck and slaps you in the face. The moment I got home from cycling mom said she got a job for me at Carltex House. Right smack in the heart of Raffles Place. Hahaha. And I started work today le. So will hardly have time to blog these days. Will probably be too tired. I expect the tempo of work to get faster tomorrow onwards. Sheesh. Just yesterday I was here at Raffles in slack pt kit laughing at 9-5 beavers in formal clothes and here I am today, a formally dressed 9-6 Raffles beaver myself. Life is indeed unpredictable.

SIGH. Wonder when I'll have time to do something as fun or crazy as this again...

When I do, anyone wanna come along???

Went back to skool to get my new polo tee and here it is.
Dri-fit! Look smarter?? Haha. Also, a pic of me for those who haven seen me in like forever (read: Sel and Flo)

Check out the mosquito bites on my arms!! Haha...

Some random updates:
- Clinicals had become more stressful, especially with the Aussie guy having his last week now. No one to tear our hair out together from next week on. =(
- Lotsa things to do and find out. Not enough time as usual.
- New pizza place at C*entury Sq*uare is cool. Refer to Sh*aun's last entry. Note: It costs $5.90 to $ 6.30, and not $6.80 as he claimed.
- Should I cut my hair short or curl it? Hair is getting messy.
- Sh*aun just cut his hair, and it makes me look like a sugar mummy next to him!! Haha.
- Just came back from a home visit in K*atong and I bought back Katong L*aksa for dinner!! Whee!!
- Lesson learnt: NEVER EVER have lunch with a client. He will want to have lunch with you everytime. It's okay if it's a one time event (because you have to accompany him to go buy some stuffs), but not everytime. It's not that I do not want to have lunch with him. But lunchtime is respite for myself, and I don't wanna babysit anyone!
- Mid eval: HB came. And I really got alot to work. I need to "open up" myself. And I'm not spontaneous or creative enough. HOW!?!?!?!

13 more days to go!! Hang in there otties!!

Pizza Fix!

After so long...

I finally got my pizza fix!

Was at TM again with the princess last evening. Wanted to go to cut my hair there but the cheapest hair saloon is like a freaking 22++. Haiz. Didn't feel good about spending so much money on hair alone also. Hahaha.

Oh wells. And this was where we had dinner. Tucked in an ulu corner of Century Square there's this lovely pizza joint that I've always wanted to try for ages and I finally did! I ordered the 'Queen's Pizza' or something like that. Is about the size of a quarter of a medium pizza which is really huge if you ask me. And comes with a juicy piece of chicken wing as well! Take the original flavoured chicken wing if you're as chilli intolerant as I am.

Add a drink and all you pay for the whole meal is $6.80. Super value for money. Not to mention that the pizza is excellent as well. The crust is medium which is just right. It's crust is just enough to crunch through and at the same time allows you savour the bread. While it needs more mozeralla in my opinion it should be enough for the average dude.

I almost could not finish the meal.

And the princess paid for it as I'm broke. =( But thanks dear!

And back to the hairy issue.

I've finally cut my hair! Or as some people say mane judging by its lenght and thickness. Went with Jermaine to Bedok central today to his trusty barber. He cuts his hair like once a month? Sheesh.

And here's a shocker which I just realised when we were walking to the barber.

It's the first time I had my hair cut by a professional barber in 3 years!!! OMG that is freaking long!!! I remember the last time I had my hair done by a 'professional' as a civillian was in Nov 2003 before JC Prom night!

Best thing is the new hairdo costs only 8 bucks!!! Way too cheap. Still got money left to blanja Jermaine bubble tea for recommending such a good barber. I like how I look now though I think it's a bit beng.

So yes it's finally safe to be seen with me now all you buggers. You all can safely acknowledge me as a friend now if you all really wanna. Hahaha. I'm too lazy to take pictures of my new hairdo also. Maybe will upload it when I'm really free.

Should be starting work very soon so hope to find time to catch up!

Out of point remark: Liverpool better win tonight. So I can laugh at Wenger's face.

Some random early weekend updates!

After loboying for a couple of days the weekends are finally here! Wanted to start working as early as this week but sigh. Job offer haven't came.

The week seems longer when there's absolutely nothing to do. TGIF and I managed to blast start the weekend by going out with Weasel and Su Qin. Caught Flushed Away at TM's gv. As I sat at the theatre I can't even recall what was the last movie that I caught. Sheesh. There was not many people and we managed to get the last row centre seats.

For those who have not watched it, I'd say it's a good 80 odd mins of hysterical laughter. Weasel and I laughed so loud that Su Qin almost swore we were not related to her. She also nearly emptied the pop corn bag to put it over her head for fear of being spotted with us. Nah not that bad but somewhere there. You'd get the idea. Anyway it's the perfect movie to laugh away all the stoopid hair pulling mugging days.

Yes it's a story about animated rats. If you wanna find out if it's worth the 7.5 to 9.5 bucks that you're going to part with to see this show, click here. Too lazy to write my own reviews and I don't wanna spoil the show for others as well.

Met up with the princess after that to go Bras Basah to find arts stuff. Had to waste 6 bucks to buy a brolly from giodarno as it suddenly rained like mad. Sigh. Wanted to go Bras Basah to find a guitar for myself also. But all the guitars there are way out of my range. Not to mention being low on quality as well. Sw** L** music co really out to KAH people of their money one. Must go peninsular next. Miss my old Epi guitar. Haiz.

Headed to Terence's birthday party next. And I finally caught up with KENNY bro! My jc first 3 months buddy. It's been like what 4 years since we last met? Had a good couple of hours chat with him. Nice to find that he's doing great. Didn't had chance to play a game of pool with him at the clubhouse as the table's always occupied. He's an excellent pool player. Managed to catch up a bit with old squash buddies as well also. Haha. That's the main reason why I attend parties. Not so much to see the bday boy or gal (you'd hardly get a piece of them anyway) but to catch up with long lost friends.

Today started off great too. Just came back from a mile swim at safra tamp with elder bro. Waters' yellowish, infused with who knows what. Eek. And I'm itching all over now despite bathing. Been a long time since I last swam too. Missed island life in Pulau Tekong where the pool's only 20 m away from my bunk and its waters' deep blue in colour. Managed to make it back in time before the crazy storm that's going on outside now.

More updates soon! Pray that I'll get the job I want.

Hope you guys would have a great weekend too!

Gotta go stare at the rain outside now.

To song or not to song? That is the question.

I was rather sceptical about this move as some other people may not like listening to the same songs as I do.

Well we'll see how this works out.

But I'll try to change songs more often.

Don't slam me if you hate it!

Cos I probably won't care anyway unless you are the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.

That is right.

I ONLY HEAR WHAT I WANT TO.

Because I was rash...

Because I was very rash. I bought Sun Yan Zi's My Story, Your Song compilation album without even a second of hesitation. Just because it was staring at me at Sembawang music store in Junction 8. Oh it's the first time in my 21 years that I went to Junction 8 today. *thunderous rousing applause* Thank you.

Just less than a month after I swore off buying cds with my purchase of the limited edition The Best of Sixpence None the Richer cd. I have total control over my bloody nets, without any form of personal self control.

And I still wanna buy:
1. A new guitar
2. A new pair of spectacles
3. A new pair of havaianas
4. Another pair of going kai kai shoes
5. A laptop back pack

That's all I can think of for now and I'm so toast.

Was there after our game of badminton in the morning at YioChuKang sports hall (Why am I going to all the way to YCK every alternate days???) Oh today's badminton game saw another first as well. First time in my 21 years I got trashed by a girl in badminton. Quite a lot of life's first in a day. Haha. Not really trashed but I lost 7-11. Credit to her of course she was good. *applause for her as well?*

Ran around the court like shyte but erased all the couple of hour's hard work with a meal at cafe cartel later on. I'm spending money like water ( I lost 26.20 bucks on mahjong on Sunday=( ) but I'm in a freaking desert. Haiz. But hopefully I'll be working by next monday. Getting restless with countless hours of doing nothing. And I'm super low on vitamin M.

Will be looking around for a job while awaiting the result for an application. I don't wanna work at DFS again although they need people during this holiday season. And I would like to try waitering. Anyone knows of any place which offers at least decent pay (no minimum national wage rates please) and training for total noobs like me?

What to do what to do...

Another chinese song

Cheers sent this rather nice song...

Hahaha I still have serious problems reading the lyrics. But its a really good song. Been recently stumbling upon some uber nice songs these days.

And exams are so over!!! All I can do is hope and pray.

So! Party plans anyone?

But most of my friends are not done yet. So will probably be hanging around with SIM friends for the next week or so. All you NUS, NTU and SMU people keep it up there!!! I can't wait for Weasel, Cheers and Yeow to be done with their semester. It's been way too long since the Simpang EPL gang met up for soccer. It's never fun to watch soccer alone.

Be back with more updates soon! Real soon.

Updates!!

4 weeks into clinical attachment, and I'm grateful for many things:

1. Finally a centre near my house. I can get home within 45minutes, 30minutes on a good day.

2. A SUPERB supervisor who is so experienced, who lets me explore what I want to do, and FORCES me to think on my feet.

3. A chance to have attachment with someone who have had overseas education. It gives many different perspective. And it makes me realise that N*Y*P's modules are in no way inferior to that of the Aussie counterpart.

4. Learning many things from my supervisor, and also clients.

5. Doing some things unrelated to clinical handling. They include painting picture frames (it's my small project for them: to help them with the art exhibition); moving equipments around (due to repainting works in the rehab department); and also knowing more about FISHES. Whee!!

My attachment so far had been real fun. Of course, the amount of stress is still high. But the continuous learning from everyone keeps me on my feet. I always feel so tired when I get home. Hope the otties are learning loads too. 20 more days!!

P.S: Does anyone knows when the results will be out??
