Terminal 3

Here I am! Once again!

Clueless?

If you don't know where I am now you are no Singaporean. Heck even a foreigner might be able to identify it...

Yeah. The end of semester chao mugging season is back. Was dragging myself on that lovely Saturday morning out of bed to the airport to study with Desmond.

There was an ulterior motive for us to be studying at such an obscure location too. That's because Des' mom got tickets for the pre-public viewing of newly 'completed' Terminal 3! So we threw the notes away and headed for the skytrain from terminal 2 and journeyed to the unexplored!

So before you decide to squeeze with the throng of folks exploring the airport when it opens to public from mid next month, let yours truly take you along this sneak preview and help you decide if its worth the squeeze.

The supposed grand 'tree-top' skytrain ride to terminal 3. They were right. It is a treetop ride after all. Just that the trees are those planted within the carpark. Not those sprawling from some grand rainforest. But I can forsee more parents taking their kids and hogging those seats for the skytrain rides by taking those countless to-and-fro trips since the train ride is longer now.

The super huge departure hall greeted us upon arrival...

Super smooth marble flooring and grand pillars.

Definitely will be able to handle the expected surge in arrivals...

The 'guide' was saying that the ceiling was designed to emit natural light. Neat.

I shall now apologise in advance for the lack of detailed descriptions as I'm doing supposed Employment Relationship research online as well. All in preparation for my paper this Thursday. That's how hardcore a blogger I am! Hahaha. Blogging like mad with the paper in less than what 60 hours away??? WO MEI SHI JIAN!

Looks like I'm going for a holiday.

The airport of the future- No more immigration folks anymore. Tap your passport and go!

Amazing! I tapped an Ez-link card and I got in!

Desmond is one up- He tapped his "Intro to Terminal 3 guide" pamphlet and got in...

Nah just kidding... YOU DO NEED A PASSPORT IN FUTURE. Its just that we have unlimited access into the check in and transit areas as well! Hahaha. This Jappy fountain like structure sat in the middle of the departure/transit hall.

Still work-in-progress I suppose. At least they turned on the tap!

Never queue to gian peng the free internet again!

The transit halls' full of fake trees. . .

But the transit hall boast a great view of the runway.

I underestimated Spore's ability to WOW guests. The trees are real! Planted under the tiles and carpet. But what if these young trees get bigger? How about growing roots???

I reached up and grabbed one of the leaves (The trees must be short or I'm tall). Its real alright. Hahaha.

The very fortunate dude whos mom works in CAAS and the more fortunate one whos friend's mom works in the CAAS. . .

The supposed koi pond without any koi yet. Just filled with some rubbish that other inconsiderate people throw in.

The designated area for the upcoming 'butterfly park'. Yes we're gonna be the first airport in the world with a butterfly park. Talk about doing things over the top. LOL. This should leave other airports smelling smoke...

The super huge gate departing area or whatever you call it.

The super cute snaking sofa. And I see other people sprawling over it already. Kids climbing all over it as well. Like their own sofa couch back home. Maybe some things in transit area are meant to be kept in transit area. So that Singaporeans who do not know how to behave won't destroy it.

I like the new funky toilet signs. The watercoolers' located outside are on auto sensor mode. Stand in front of it and the water flows out.

No Singaporean airport terminal is complete without our very pretty orchirds.

To the arrival hall!

My thoughts on the 'green wall'??? Why on earth would Changi want to put a huge piece of vehicle or command post camouflage net up in the arrival hall??? Maybe its to remind locals and foreigners alike that all MALE Singaporeans are S...... to the nation.

At least the cascading wall fountain above the baggage collection area's a beauty.

And I'm sure Xiang Ning will love these walls.

Pretty dophins swimming across the walls. But why not merlion???

Lastly the travellator across a mini jungle???

The conclusion: Terminal 3 is pretty if you're a tourist. The beauty's only on the inside. If not, its just another airport terminal.
K. Its 1230am already and I better hurry with my ER research if not 2 people will skin me tomorrow. Night!

What a week... What a week...

Its been a horrible week! Especially when its spent mugging and mugging. Its even worse when I was unable to concentrate during the studying hours. The end result, 8 hours a day in front of the notes and nothing goes in somehow... Nothing! SHEESH.

Gate crashed a certain poly for mugging again on Tuesday and Wednesday. Bumped into XiaoLongNu there! She happened to be mugging there too. Poor thing. Heard all the horror stories of killer papers in NUS. Haiz. Study hard gal! Eh! I was also studying very hard when you saw me ok! All the best for your coming papers too! We'll celebrate your birthday when I'm back from Perth! =)

Finally got started on the Prices and Market Module. Which I felt I screwed up today because of the last question!!! Arrgh. Made a careless mistake and the numerical errors rolled over to the subsequent parts. Haiz. Can only blame myself for such follies. I'll bang my head on the wall if i get another 78 marks and miss the HD. HAIZ. Was feeling real horrid at the end of the exams.

Fortunately Cheers happen to be free this evening and glady put off his studies to play basketball with me after my papers. I desperately needed to get out of the house and let off some steam. Headed down to his area and shot some hoops till about 830pm. I found out that basketball performance corresponds positvely with foul mood! The more depressed / foul one feels, the better the ability to make the shots. Hahaha! Or is it just me? Cheers even let me win the one-on-one games that we played. Felt much better after the game. Went to buy some drinks and we chilled and chatted at KFC till almost 1030. Thanks for the companionship dude!

Since yours truly today buay song, I shall post darker sunset photos! MUWAHAHA!

Sunset in LT 4

Hmmm super weird sunset formation... I always wondered how is it possible to have such clear orange and black demarcations. I mean on my side its totally dark and into the night. But I can see a clear dark orange and even a tinge of yellow and white just beyond...

My shaky hand, my Anti-anti-handshake camera and my fuzzy images... There goes another unique, priceless and never-repeated minutes of beautiful sunset. Another picture perfect moment courtesy of the Highest One up there. Thank YOU for it! =)

Cool or wad?

Our ideal room. . . . .
-
The Princess sent me this digital picture on msn. Don't know how she created something like this on a computer but she did it. I gotta stop being such a computer idiot.
-
Well it sure seems like MY ideal room instead of ours or hers. Hahaha. I see my basketball and guitar... And lotsa cats!
-
True the bean bags are in red rather than green. Oh there's a lava lamp too. So it somehow squares out... Cool pic!
-
Anyway some mini updates...
-
I finally cut my hair! The main person responsible for it? AH MA. LOL.
-
She was grumbling at me and commenting at how scruffy and unkempt I looked for the whole month.
-
"Tao Moh Ah Nay Deng. . . Mai Keh Ka. Ka Sam Seng Kia Peh You."
-
I can't just let Jermaine take the Number 1 most filial Grandson spot just by default of hair length can I? Hahaha. So I went with Jermaine to the usual barber on Saturday to get it trimed. Arrgh there goes all my 'hard-grown' hair. Sigh. But at least Ah Ma's happy. Heh.
-
Went to Phyl's birthday party that evening. Happy 22nd soon Phyl! And we ordered too much food. Evelyn so kindly brought more food made by her mom too. Everyone's turning old soon! No more extra special birthday celebrations anymore unlike last year. Hmmm perhaps birthdays will soon be a hassle more than something to celebrate over? Boils down to the individual I guess.
-
Was just digging out my passport (buried under tons of Cambodia collectibles) and I discovered that it wont expire till next year! Hallelujah! No need to re-apply for a new one! Save me the hassle. Was planning to waste a day running all over SIR tomorrow but I guessed that is uncalled for now. So its an extra day of mugging then...
-
Talk about choosing a pain over another...
-
Yawn! Time to sleep! Its another slow day ahead.
-
Monday + a full day of studying = MondayNavyBlues. . . .
-
K I'm getting lame and incoherent... Really its time for me to go...

J.K. Rowling outs Hogwarts character

By HILLEL ITALIE, AP National Writer

NEW YORK - Harry Potter fans, the rumors are true: Albus Dumbledore, master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay. J.K. Rowling, author of the mega-selling fantasy series that ended last summer, outed the beloved character Friday night while appearing before a full house at Carnegie Hall.

After reading briefly from the final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," she took questions from audience members.

She was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds "true love."

"Dumbledore is gay," the author responded to gasps and applause.

She then explained that Dumbledore was smitten with rival Gellert Grindelwald, whom he defeated long ago in a battle between good and bad wizards. "Falling in love can blind us to an extent," Rowling said of Dumbledore's feelings, adding that Dumbledore was "horribly, terribly let down."

Dumbledore's love, she observed, was his "great tragedy."

"Oh, my god," Rowling concluded with a laugh, "the fan fiction."

Potter readers on fan sites and elsewhere on the Internet have speculated on the sexuality of Dumbledore, noting that he has no close relationship with women and a mysterious, troubled past. And explicit scenes with Dumbledore already have appeared in fan fiction.

Rowling told the audience that while working on the planned sixth Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," she spotted a reference in the script to a girl who once was of interest to Dumbledore. A note was duly passed to director David Yates, revealing the truth about her character.

Rowling, finishing a brief "Open Book Tour" of the United States, her first tour here since 2000, also said that she regarded her Potter books as a "prolonged argument for tolerance" and urged her fans to "question authority."

Not everyone likes her work, Rowling said, likely referring to Christian groups that have alleged the books promote witchcraft. Her news about Dumbledore, she said, will give them one more reason.

Let the mugging begin!

You know mugging season has just begun if... Mug more ya all!

Sorry for the recent lack in updates but it's been the start of a crazy week so far. Let's see. Was in skool early morning on Monday and Tuesday to start the end of semester mugging process. This was followed by 2 night finance class which both dragged further than the supposed 10pm end time. I got home like 11-1130pm for both days. And was full-day mugging at Tamp library yesterday with Doris and Sok Wan. Hmmm. Last semester of mugging for them already. Super envious. No more exams ever! Imagine that... -_-"

But on the positive side, the mugging engine got started at least. But it took a huge beating on Tuesday afternoon. Weasel finished ALL his papers already!!! Arrgh!!! He came to the student lounge after his paper to watch me study and invite me to go out eat and K-box with him... Thanks ah! Just what I need... Haiz. What would I not give to fast forward these 22 days... Where is that 'click' remote that Adam Sandler was holding??? Gimmie that!!!

Guess most (You lucky CHAO WEASEL! Hahah. Have fun playing dude...) of you folks should be in mugging season too. Study hard all you peeps!
-
A totally out of point section:
Guess where on earth I caught this kitty?
-
No one will ever guessed. SIM ATRIUM!!! YES. SIM ATRIUM. Never thought the skool would have any cats but... Yeah. It was on a late Tuesday night around 1020pm when finance class just ended. Desmond and I were rushing up to the atrium entrance as his dad was already waiting to give us a ride back. Then I saw this kitty resting on the cool atrium glass. Totally ignorant of the tons of students rushing out from the various lecture halls.
-
As I approached it, it remained aloof and unmoving. Merely diao-ed me for getting so close to it. Has cute grey spots on head and a stubby grey tail. Fur looks ruffled probably because of the slight drizzle that's outside. The poor kitty must have ran into the skool to take cover. So I quickly whipped out my phone, took a snap and rushed off after Desmond. Too bad there was not enough time or I'd give it a headrub before I rush off. Hmmm gonna go kitty hunting in skool sometime.
-
Will be trying to study at home today all day! Away you vile and evil guitar, laptop, bed, tv, etc..! Still experimenting with the various study venues and timings. I need to learn how to MUG! Tips anyone?

Perth Royal Show

Finally ended this horror week where everyday I have to stare at the laptop, wondering what other words to put inside my assignments. They are all done!! Except for group facilitation on Wed. I wanna get that over and done with!! It's such a chore trying to communicate with someone who dun wanna communicate with you. It's much much worse then the clients I've seen, mind you!

Back to happier stuffs! The Royal Perth Show as mentioned earlier!! Loads of pics!!!

Met Sel at Perth station and we made our way to the Showground. We decided to wear nicely, and were not really in the mood for rides.

The first sight that greeted us when we reach. I love the way the trees form this continuous shade for us.
A cloudless and very lovely day for a day at the Royal Show! Weather was not overly hot (early 20 I suppose)

Sel takes really flattering pics of mi.

First bite: Corn on cob with herb and butter

Sel eyed some passerby having corndogs and couldn't resist

oooohhhhh.... face painting. Really cute. Saw a few kittens, spiderman, butterflies walking around.
Then we had lollies!! Perfect for a warm sunny day!!

Showbags! Wheeeee!! They look really happy yeah? I bought 2 showbags. One bag of sweets and another one with an inflatable pillow, a hat, a pouch, a handphone pouch, and 2 canvas bag (for 20bucks!). Most of the times the things inside the showbags worths much more than the amount u pay. So people really go crazy with them.

At KidsZone. I love how colourful it looks.

These 4 guys were really cool. They really look as if they are enjoying themselves. They look and behaved like they have had a couple of beers before performing. So HIGH. It's also quite amusing that the smallest sized guy had the largest instrument.

Oooohhhh... guess what I'm doing...
Yeah! Temporary tattoos!! Wheeeeee!! Couldn't resist it!

The final product!
As said earlier, Sel takes nice pic of me! See my tattoo, see my tattoo!!

Of fairies and unicorns.

This very old school slow machine. You put in 20 cents then this ball comes and and you spring it up. Itll then go round and round. If you managed to get it into the slots above the pink coloured part, you get some sweets.
And I got it in my first try!! Heh!

I wonder how long it took for them to make this. Anyone wanna attempt to eat it?

I see chairlifts!

And we went to sit on it!! So technically speaking, we DID take a ride. The beginning of the ride was really scary, coz it was wobbly, and you see yourself getting higher and higher...

Look at Sel's grip on the pole!! And we had similar expressions!

High above all the people!!

The view's good though! Scary ride....

One of my favourite picture. The ferris wheel was going really really fast!!

Lotsa colourfull teddies
After all the walking around, we met up with Rui, HuiHui, Tricia and Rin. We then went to listen to the WA youth jazz orchestra. Damn good! But sometimes it was too loud!

We sat at the oval for the longest amount of time. There were some performance on bikes (as in bicycles and motorbikes), some horse running around with lights on them and lights dimmed, we waited....

And took pictures.
And finally the moment we had been waiting for....
FIREWORKS!! It was good coz of the music. There's Chicago, Grease, ABBA amongst others, all synchronised with the fireworks.

Overall, it was a really fun day, although I spent quite alot of money. Entrance fee itself was already 22. I thought that with such an expensive entrance fee, the rides would not be so ex, but with each ride averaging 8 or 9 bucks.... hmmm... the chairlift was cheaper though ($6). Heh. Of course, the most important is the company! Thanx Sel! For all the beautiful pictures u take of me, and for the friendship we've had. =))
